Weighting 86 kgs is not motivating for anyone. When you are just in your teenage, the number on the weighing scale determines your mood of the day. Looking at the scale showing 86 kgs must not have been a good experience for Sonam Kapoor. She has managed to cover the journey from being an over weight girl to the sexy lady of our tinsel town.
Now, just like her bold statements, she stuns people with her style statement too. She looks like a diva with a perfectly curved body and a not even a single extra inch of fat on her body. Her not so easy journey is enough to inspire you to loose those tires from around your waist.
How She Got Started
Sonam Kapoor never intended to joins films and was concentrating on her studies. She was a student in Singapore and since her ambitions never demanded her to be in shape, she never took care of her weight. Eating carelessly and not working out made her gain those extra kilos which she later on worked hard to reduce.
After she was offered Saawariya, Sonam decided that she should loose those extra inches because her profession demands her to be in shape. After the offer, she went on a strictly healthy diet and worked really hard to loose almost 35 kilos.
Today, Sonam gives her mother the credit for making her loose weight and to keep her inspired for the same. She says, ““In all fairness, it was my mother who helped me get rid of my excess weight. The first thing she did was to keep me off the stuff I was so fond of as a teenager- chocolates, ice creams, fried foods and sweets.”
Here’s How She Burned Those Calories
Like almost all of the girls, Sonam also gets easily bored of her workout routine. That is why she incorporated many things in her workout regime. Weight trainers Shervir and Monisha took care of her rigorous gymming sessions. She got herself trained in Kathak and mastered the art of power and artistic yoga. Food Means A Lot To Her
She is a foodie and like every other foodie on the planet she craves for every unhealthy yet tasty thing. However, she does something differently. She says that eating anything in moderation can’t harm too much. Even chocolates. She doesn’t believe in dieting and says that a healthy meal plan is all one needs to be fit. In her own words, “Yeah, looking at my figure people often assume that I don’t eat much. On the contrary, I eat every two hours. Since my day is packed with strenuous physical activity- shooting, swimming or dancing- I never allow myself to go hungry for too long. If I feel peckish, I snack on nuts and dry fruits.”
Breakfast: Oatmeal and fruits.
Post workout snack: Brown bread with egg whites or protein shake with juice.
Lunch: Dal, sabzi, one ragi roti, salad and a piece of chicken or fish.
Evening snack: High-fibre crackers with chicken cold cuts or egg whites.
Dinner: Soup, salad and a piece of chicken or fish.
