Weighing 120 kilos at the age of 30 is something all women dread. No one wants to be in a place where this 30 year old Charvi was. Her weight was ruining her self respect and it became a viscous cycle for her. Loathing herself, staying in bed and eating some more became the only major things she did in a day.

One fine morning, one of her best friends asked her to come to the park to check out some celebrities shooting for their upcoming film. Charvi got excited to see them and decided to meet her friend. As she wore her shoes and got ready to go out, she didn’t know that this decision was going to change her life. As she stepped out of the house in the morning, a blast of oxygen hit her and it was as if she was blessed with a new life all of a sudden. Even before she reached the park, she found herself walking briskly.

The event changed something in her mind and she started to walk for an hour everyday. If mornings were not possible, she used to go out at any time of the day and made sure that she walked for at least an hour. Here’s how her body changed over a period of six months:

She lost 30 Pounds

She always knew that walking could lead to weight loos but she never knew that, walking to work on ones body weight, it needs to be done regularly. No cheat days are allowed. When a person decides to walk early in the morning, their bodies don’t have any food to burn. It’s just the stored up fat which is burned to give you energy. Taking a morning walk without any tea or coffee is the best thing you can do to your body. It burns up to 700 calories and gives you a refreshed feel.

Her Blood Pressure was back to Normal

She used to suffer from high blood pressure and walking for just an hour every day did a miracle. Her blood pressure dropped to be within the normal range and she used to feel less stressed. Walking is a great cardio exercise which works by lowering the levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing the levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. High Blood pressure causes heart attacks and since her blood pressure came back to normal, her risk of suffering a heart attack were lowered substantially.

Her Diabetes Just Vanished Into Thin Air

Walking proved to be a boon for her and everyone else who is aware of it’s benefits. It cures Type 2 diabetes and regulates the hormones in ones body. When she started walking, her blood sugar levels got regulated and over a period of time her insulin resistance also got cured. Her body started to recognize insulin and it cured her Type 2 diabetes.

It elevated her mood And She Overcame Her Depression

There is a reason why a feel good factor is attached to walking. When one walks regularly, the cortisol, which is a hormone which makes you feel sad and depressing, gets lowered. Walking boosts the release of feel-good endorphins while reducing stress and anxiety. It works as the most effective anti depressant and Charvi experienced it first hand. Her moods stopped swaying from sad to depressed all the time. She was happy and started planning her life ahead. The regulation also curbed her eating from stress and she started to take care of diet which led to some more weight loss.

Her Immunity Increased Manifolds

A moderately-paced walk for about 30 to 45 minutes daily can increase the number of immune system cells in ones body and over a period of time, it can really have a remarkable effect on the body’s ability to fight diseases. Usual cold and flu are some problems she has totally forgotten about. Her body has developed a great immune system and for a girl who used to feel sick almost all through out the year, now feels energetic and keeps the diseases at bay just by walking.
